Privacy Policy
The protection, sovereignty, and confidentiality of your farm data are our absolute priorities.
Preamble
The DGRSDT and ONIL, acting as joint data controllers, firmly commit to protecting the privacy of farmers, veterinarians, and advisors (hereinafter referred to as "the User"). This policy is strictly developed in compliance with Algerian Law No. 18-07 of June 10, 2018, relating to the protection of individuals in the processing of personal data. MyHERD servers are physically located in Algeria to ensure complete sovereignty of national strategic data.
1. Exhaustive Data Collection
In order to provide state-of-the-art tools for managing your farm, we transparently collect the following data:
- Identification and Contact Data: name, first name, secure phone number, email address, profession (farmer, veterinarian, advisor), and geographical location (Wilaya, commune) of the farm.
- Zootechnical and Medical Farm Data: genealogical registry (ear tag number, breed, date of birth), reproductive events (artificial inseminations, pregnancy checks, calvings, abortions), daily milk production data, and digitized health records (pathologies, vaccines, administered veterinary treatments).
- Technical and Security Data: IP addresses, secure connection logs, type of device used, solely for the purpose of preventing fraud attempts or unauthorized system access.
2. Precise Purposes of Processing
Your data is never sold or exploited for commercial purposes. It is rigorously processed to:
- Digital Farm Management: ensure centralized herd management, optimization of reproductive cycles via predictive alerts, and digitization of health records.
- Research and Development: allow DGRSDT to model predictive algorithms aimed at improving application usability and proposing new artificial intelligence features to farmers.
- Health Alerts and Notifications: inform you in real-time of vaccination reminders, drying off periods, or transmit national health alerts issued by ONIL or veterinary services.
- National Strategy (ONIL): produce, strictly anonymized and aggregated (without any identification of your farm), national macroeconomic indicators (insemination success rates, milk collection forecasts) to guide the Algerian food security policy.
- Traceability and Legal Obligations: ensure complete animal traceability of the dairy herd to meet health standards and regulatory frameworks in force.
3. Strict Retention Period
Your farm data is kept as long as your account is active. In case of an account closure request, personal data is permanently deleted from our active servers within 90 days. Historical health and zootechnical data will be irreversibly anonymized beforehand to be kept indefinitely exclusively for scientific archiving and national statistics.
4. Restricted and Compartmentalized Access (Recipients)
MyHERD adopts a "least privilege" security architecture. Your data is only accessible to the following actors, according to their roles:
- Authorized Personnel (DGRSDT): engineers and researchers bound by professional secrecy, exclusively for technical debugging and implementation of predictive logic.
- Infrastructure Hosts: Sovereign Data Centers based in Algeria providing physical hosting of servers. They have no logical access to the application data.
- Competent State Authorities: state services (health, judicial authorities) exclusively upon presentation of a legal order, in the event of a severe health crisis (e.g., epizootic) or official investigation.
5. Zero Tolerance on Data Security
Your information is your capital. MyHERD deploys enterprise-class cybersecurity measures: encryption of communications (256-bit SSL/TLS protocol), strong cryptographic hashing of passwords (Argon2ide/Bcrypt), off-site encrypted daily backups, and a web application firewall (WAF) against cyberattacks. All administrative accesses are logged in real-time.
6. Your Rights Guaranteed by Law (18-07)
In accordance with Article 32 and following of Law No. 18-07, you have absolute control over your information:
- Right of Access and Information: consult all the data and history recorded on the Site at any time.
